Accounting position within a full-service Accounting Department that requires the ability to analyze business needs, document workflow and communicate results to management. Essential functions require the potential to work independently and complete assigned tasks promptly. This position will assist with departmental objectives, and ensure proper internal controls. The individual must exhibit the ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and is expected to communicate financial results effectively. Candidate should be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ownership of the reconciliation process for all operational expense activity and Balance Sheet Accounts, Specific areas of control include:
- Accrued Professional Fees
- Payroll/Payroll Tax Accounting & Reporting
- Management Incentives
- Donations and Medco Foundation Accounting & Reporting
- Intercompany Reporting & Analysis
- Balance Sheet Analysis
- Special Projects
- UBC Reporting and Analysis
- Liberty Integration
Partner with Financial Planning and operation staff to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of operational expenses.
Other accounting responsibilities and reporting include various balance sheet and p&l analyses.
Analyze business needs, document workflow and communicate results to management.
Required to document workflow and update Sarbanes and Oxley narratives as appropriate.
Partner with accounting supervisor to implement improvements if necessary.
Support accounting department during the monthly and quarterly audit.
Accountant Career Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting
- Requires 1-3 years public/private accounting experience
- Knowledge of JD Edwards’s One World (General Ledger)
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently on special projects and effective communication are essential skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
