Position Overview:
Perryville School seeks a qualified elementary teacher for a multi-level classroom within a K-12 setting. The institution currently enrolls 22 students across all grade levels. This role demands a dynamic educator capable of fostering a standards-based, culturally responsive learning environment.

Reporting Structure:
The successful candidate will report directly to the on-site or itinerant principal.

Compensation:
Salary will be determined by appropriate placement on the LPSD Teacher Salary Scale.

Required Qualifications:

1. Education & Certification:
   • Valid teaching certification or demonstrated commitment to obtaining certification.
   • Familiarity with standards-based educational frameworks.
2. Experience & Skills:
   • Preferred experience with Response to Intervention (RTI) or Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
   • Cross-cultural instructional experience is highly advantageous.
   • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collegiality.
   • Positive, enthusiastic disposition with a commitment to educational excellence.
   • Ability to align instructional practices with the district’s mission, vision, and goals.
   • Compliance with all professional requirements set by the school, district, and State of Alaska.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop and deliver standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional materials to promote active learning.
• Conduct formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
• Integrate technology effectively to support differentiated instruction.
• Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate student records via PowerSchool and provide timely feedback on academic performance.
• Engage in district-mandated professional development opportunities.
• Foster regular communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and concerns.
• Cultivate partnerships with families to enhance student outcomes.
• Articulate clear learning objectives for all instructional activities.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: 
  • Accepting all AK teaching experience, and up to six years out-of-state experience, for initial placement. Starting at $51,259 (BA+0yrs) to $86,408 (BA72/MA36+13yrs).
  • Recognizes all Alaska teaching experience and up to six years of out-of-state experience.
