Orlando Health Corporate: Tax Accountant – Orlando, FL

The Tax Accountant also independently analyzes financial statements; processes journal entries; and takes appropriate follow-up action to resolve any identified discrepancies in the accounting system and general ledger accounts. Additionally, the Tax Accountant will present clear, organized and concise reports of findings regarding fluctuations in account balances to Finance Director and Financial Managers.

Orlando Health is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our team. This position serves a supportive function for both the corporate accounting and tax departments. Therefore, the Tax Accountant must be interested in performing both general accounting and tax functions within the organization. The Tax Accountant requires fundamental tax knowledge/experience in the corporation and partnership taxation (non-profit taxation is not mandatory) and demonstrates a working knowledge of tax law as it pertains to the preparation of tax returns and basic tax law research.

Qualification of Tax Accountant

• Education/Training
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance or business field required.
• Experience
  Two (2) years’ experience in accounting required. General knowledge of word processing and Excel. Must have proficiency in Excel. A master’s degree in Accounting or related field may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.

Essential Functions

• Preparation of in-depth tax work papers in support of tax return preparation.
• Understands major corporation and partnership tax.
• Interpret and apply tax law and other IRS guidance in performing basic tax research.
• Deadline drove with a high level of multi-tasking.
