JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is a Registered Nurse who functions in an expanded nursing role, providing primary health care and emergency services to high-risk newborns. They work collaboratively with the physician staff of the Children’s Health Care Service in general and of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)specifically. In the NICU, NNP work is conducted using guidelines agreed upon with the Medical Director of the NICU. The NNP is responsible for the complete daily management of a caseload of patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and day-to-day implementation and evaluation of an appropriate plan of care.
Our NICU NNPs and PAs work collaboratively on scheduling their shifts, and this full-time position works 6 day or night shifts (14 shifts) per two-week pay period.
Primary responsibilities included NICU patient care, care L&D, and NBN
EDUCATION:
Registered Nurse, currently licensed in the State of VT as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. BSN and satisfactory completion of an accredited Neonatal Practitioner Program. National certification as an NNP.
EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will have experience as a NICU NNP.
