A local WNY company, Confidential Marketing Company, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant in Buffalo, NY. An accountant is a practitioner of accounting or accountancy, which is the measurement, disclosure, or provision of assurance about financial information that helps managers, investors, tax authorities, and others make decisions about allocating resources. The duties of the Senior Accountant include but are not limited to the following:

  • Process Payroll each week
  • Recording of deposits
  • Obtain and reconcile payment files with Sales Journal, investigate any anomalies
  • Cross-reference chargeback information to payment files
  • Following up on past-due receivables or items requiring further research
  • Data entry
  • Data checking and verification using v-lookups and pivot tables in Excel
  • Available for cross-training in various accounting tasks as
  • Maintain positive relationships with sales partners, co-workers, and other departmental employees
  • Help assess profitability of various sales partner relationships

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in fast-moving, successful WNY medium to large-sized business processing a high volume of accounts
  • Two-year Associate’s Degree in Accounting a must
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access, including Pivot Tables and v-lookups is essential
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
  • Maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment to work on special projects and multitask
  • Ability to work as a team, as well as independently
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Willingness to work overtime in peak periods
  • Ability to provide input to improve processes to improve overall company efficiency
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality about confidential information
