Travel Nursing Jobs in Hawaii: Pay, Opportunities, and Island Lifestyle

For nurses who dream of combining career growth with a tropical setting, travel nursing jobs in Hawaii offer a rare opportunity. Healthcare facilities across the islands regularly seek registered nurses for specialties such as operating room, telemetry, and intensive care. Job platforms like Indeed list a variety of openings, allowing nurses to explore available assignments, compare salaries, and apply for positions that match their skills and career goals.

Hawaii’s healthcare system provides strong opportunities for travel nurses thanks to its modern medical facilities and steady demand for qualified professionals. Cities such as Honolulu and Hilo frequently appear in job listings, offering positions in hospitals that serve both local residents and visiting populations. Resources like The Gypsy Nurse help nurses stay updated on the latest openings while also providing information about housing and assignment details across the islands.

Compensation can be highly competitive as well. Some travel nursing contracts in Hawaii offer weekly pay approaching $2,884, particularly for specialized roles like ICU travel nurses. These assignments often come through travel nursing agencies that partner with hospitals experiencing staffing shortages. With attractive pay packages and unique work environments, Hawaii continues to draw experienced nurses from across the country.

Beyond the paycheck, the lifestyle factor makes these assignments especially appealing. After a shift, nurses might find themselves watching a sunset on Waikiki Beach or exploring the natural beauty of volcanic landscapes and coastal trails. The combination of professional opportunity, strong compensation, and unforgettable scenery makes Hawaii one of the most exciting destinations for travel nurses seeking both career advancement and adventure.
