Job Description and Duties
CCHCS seeks to fill a permanent/full-time Nursing Consultant, Program Review (NCPR) position in Nursing Services.
Under the direction of the Statewide Chief Nurse Executive or designee, the Nursing Consultant, Program Review is responsible for implementing and monitoring the nursing programs in institutions, and for providing program consultation regarding nursing practices, procedures, and standards. This position has the possibility of extensive travel with limited notice.

This position is located in the Nursing Services Branch, which provides essential leadership and institutional support advocating positive change to promote quality in the provision of safe, efficient, and competent nursing care in all service line delivery areas, including inpatient, outpatient, and specialty care, and TTA/R&R/Reception Center.
Additionally, the headquarters Chief Nurse Executives provide statewide program guidance to nursing service lines at all institutions and support nursing practice through the assessment of processes, policies and procedures, protocols, clinical decision support tools, nursing curriculum and competencies, and the deployment of nursing resources to assist and support the goal of continuous quality improvement.
Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
