Registered Nurse, Imaging Department
Under the direction of the imaging supervisor and the radiologist, provide nursing for patients of all ages during diagnostic imaging procedures. Assists radiologist in performing diagnostic imaging procedures and provide patient care, including monitoring and documenting throughout, and following the procedure. Demonstrate competency in starting IV’s and appropriately respond to medical emergencies. Maintain the highest standards of nursing care and provide necessary assistance to all patients. Complete continuing educational programs and mandatory training for imaging and nursing personnel. Follow all imaging department’s policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory standards. Float between Parma and Cleveland Heights Medical Center (CHMC) as necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Effectively assist with diagnostic imaging procedures within the scope of practice under the supervision of the radiologist. Demonstrate compliance with Nursing Procedures and Policies, in particular with reference to procedural sedation and documentation. Safe transference of patients to and from procedure room and imaging tables and the necessary motor skills to start an IV
- Efficiently enter information into electronic medical record, including order entry, appointment scheduling, and documentation
- Facilitate appointment scheduling and follow-up with patients by telephone within the time frame indicated by the radiologist
- Perform all other duties as assigned needed to provide high-quality patient care and service
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Graduate of an NLN-accredited school or college of nursing
- Two years, within the last five years, clinical nursing experience within a critical care setting: ICU, MICU, SICU, or similar highly technically oriented setting
- Current, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio is required
- BCLS & ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire
- Computer and keyboard experience required
- Pass Core Competency Skills Validation within probationary period
- Complete established RN Orientation Program within the specified time frame
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Five years within a critical care setting preferred
- Charge Nurse experience preferred
- Critical Care RN certification (CCRN) preferred
