Accountant Job Summary
Records and maintains all entries in the general ledger. Ensures all sub-ledgers are reconciled to the general ledger. Compiles and generates Corporate/internal monthly financial statements and other related financial reports. Ensures compliance with Corporate reporting requirements. Analyzes and recaps various balance sheet and expense accounts.
Maintains and provides the proper recording of fixed asset transactions in the capital software. Calculates and analyzes monthly depreciation and gains/losses on sales of fixed assets. Maintains capital equipment budget and detailed depreciation forecast. Ensures proper application of sales and use taxes. Reconciles bank statements for various cash accounts.
Prepares customer pricing packages of material, direct labor and engineering efforts for program personnel, company management, and customers. Analyzes changes in customer pricing from previous to current bids. Prepares journal entries about cost of goods sold and non-recurring engineering activities. Maintains an active working relationship with related program management, operations, purchasing, and accounting functions.
Plans, analyzes, forecasts, and reports on cost, sales, income, bookings, backlog, workforce, material, and other related data. Develops, monitors and reports on departmental labor and expense budgets. Recommends corrective action be taken. Participates in the development, implementation, interpretation and monitoring program, department and administrative policies and procedures.
Accountant Skills Required

Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, good judgment, and professionalism when representing the company. Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as, presentation skills. Works well as an individual or on teams. Will be able to take on limited project leadership/ownership. Requires moderate supervision for completion of tasks. Demonstrates an ability to work effectively with suppliers or customers. Understands and uses continuous improvement tools. Able to travel up to 10% of the time, including day and overnight travel as required. Participates in an ongoing development activity with complete documentation including a follow-up a review with the team in a presentation format. Accountant Experience Required
Must have general ledger expertise in a manufacturing environment Must have a working knowledge of spreadsheet applications
Accountant Education Required: 4-year accounting degree
