The Lead Accountant job description, this position offers many challenges and opportunities in a fast paced environment for a leading Health Care Organization. Primary responsibilities are the monthly financial closing process, and preparation of all internal and external financial reporting.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS: (Include interpersonal skills)

  • Strong organizational skills are required as the incumbent will be forced to prioritize workflow to meet monthly deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Interpersonal skills are required as the incumbent will interact with various company personnel, at all levels, as well as external auditors.
  • As the incumbent is exposed to confidential financial results, the applicant should have a high degree of integrity and professionalism.
  • Incumbent should have a general understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and be able to apply these principles to transactions occurring on a monthly basis.
  • Incumbent is required to use and maintain various system applications.

EDUCATION: (Minimum educations & certifications required)

  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting plus four years of experience. CPA or master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: (Years of experience)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications is required. Experience using Lawson General Ledger software and Access database software are pluses.

overtime) Additional requirements (travel, weekend hours):

  • Overtime will be required at certain times during the year primarily during the year end audit in January and February.
