SunTrust: Financial Advisor Associate – Melbourne and Orlando – Orlando, FL

The Financial Advisor Training Associate role is a 24-month development program for professionals who wish to build a wealth management business and become a SunTrust Financial Advisor (FA). Training associates will participate in a combination of formal and on the job training (supported by a dedicated mentor) learning to identify client needs, develop relationships with existing and prospective clients, review investment goals, prepare investment recommendations that align with client goals, and the business management skills required to operate an optimal practice model.

• Developing a book of business to meet and exceed the required performance hurdles
• Effectively sourcing prospective clients, capitalizing on referrals, assessing customer needs, through collaboration, delivering the full resources of SunTrust to the client
• Balancing investment management, sales activities, customer service, new client development, administrative, compliance, and personal growth and development according to both a day-to-day and longer-term plan
• Completing required training, obtaining industry licenses (Series 7 & 66, insurance) – as needed mastering assessments, maintaining continuing education requirements and meeting minimum performance standards

Qualifications of Financial Advisor

• Requirements:
• Knowledge, Education, Certification, Licenses
  • Series 7 and 66, insurance (preferred, not required)
  • College or advanced degree preferred
• Skills / Abilities
  • Great networking, business development, and relationship-building skills
  • Robust sales and analytical aptitude.
  • Strong work ethic and strong drive to succeed; competitive, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate relationships. Proven ability to communicate both orally and in writing; proven organizational skills
• Experience
  • ≥ 1 year outside/inside sales or business development experience and affiliation with a FINRA Registered Firm; proven performance in the previous role; or ≥ 2 years entrepreneurial work or U.S. Military experience
