  • Desirable:  has experience using Matlab for data analysis
  • B.S. + related experience, or MS + related experience
  • In-depth technical knowledge of PC hardware, software, and operating systems including Windows.  Knowledge of servers, Linux, RAID environments and enterprise applications is also a plus
  • Collecting and analyzing competitor’s products performance data including analysis of competitor product’s internal features and operations that contribute to drive performance.
  • Understands basic statistical methodologies and analysis such as ANOVA, DOE, hypothesis testing, confidential intervals etc…
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking.
  • Speak, read, and write effective English.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret documents such as technical reports, instructions, and procedures and scientific journals.

This position is to manage, analyze and report performance of new in-development drive programs to ensure WD storage products are Best- in – Class performance wise.  The candidate is responsible for Plans, schedules, and identifies test analysis tools required for testing and evaluating standard and special hard drives, will also be responsible for the definition of test parameters and testing of customer samples. Prepares performance test and diagnostic plans, and performs in depth performance analysis, and reports these results.

  • Coordinates daily performance analysis reports.
  • Works to meet schedules. Identifies problems in defined area, generates alternatives and recommends solutions.
  • Learns and understands complex technical specifications involving new drive features requiring testing.
  • Designs and executes testing experiments and analyze/interpret results.
  • Validates product configurations and provides feedback to the development team.
  • Develops test plans and conduct reviews of those test plans with the new product development team.
  • Collecting and analyzing competitor’s products performance data including analysis of competitor product’s internal features and operations that contribute to drive performance.
  • Provides written release notes and summaries of issues found.
  • Works on a variety of difficult technical problems of Medium/complex scope
  • Interfaces with drive program teams regarding schedules, testing progress and major performance issues.
  • Debug performance failures and work with new product development team at resolving issues.
  • Provides written documentation of progress/resolution of issues found.
  • Provides written progress reports on performance testing, major issues, and adherence to program schedules.
