Early Childhood Teacher Job Description
Interacts, initiates, encourages and supervises the children in daily activities. Assists the Lead Teacher in planning activities for the assigned group and offers suggestions and information about the children. Develops a cooperative and supportive attitude within the room. Uses appropriate and positive management plan based on Children’s Center and child care licensing policies and procedures. Trains classroom assistants so that management is consistent. Maintains a safe, stimulating and developmentally appropriate classroom environment by changing play areas bi-monthly, cleaning toys and equipment weekly, and checking for hazards daily.
Early Childhood Teacher Ensures health and safety of children under care or supervision by establishing and facilitating compliance of classroom and center play rules. Assists the Lead Teacher in record keeping by assisting in observation regarding children’s health, behavior, and development. Maintains good communication with parents and makes each parent feel at ease at the Center. Adheres to all policies and procedures dictated by the Children’s Center, the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, and SACS to assure compliance for state certification and national accreditation. Light lifting. Other duties as required.
Early Childhood Teacher Occasional Duties
Attend staff orientation, staff meetings and family/center functions. Performs related duties as required.

Starting salaries for positions may be negotiable based on qualifications and experience $8.87
