Accounting Clerk Job Summary

Processes repetitive and nonrepetitive, clerical accounting transactions which need specific knowledge of a wide variety of prescribed accounting codes and classifications.

Accounting Clerk Responsibilities

Assist Accountant with preparing and processing accounting transactions, including accounts receivable and payables, as well as delivering office mail to other departments on campus. Reconcile monthly reports, maintain filing system, maintain purchase card reports, and other duties as assigned.

Accounting Clerk Qualifications

One year of experience performing accounting functions and preparing related reports; the ability to understand, interpret, and apply University and departmental regulations, capacity to use standard office machines, data input, demonstrated spreadsheet skills; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.

Other Information

This position requires successful completion of a drug test and criminal background check.
